Flubenol oral paste is a dog and cat dewormer. A broad spectrum anthelminthic (dewormer), Flubenol is a simple and effective dewormer, particularly due to the fact that it is administered orally using a syringe.

Flubenol oral paste - Indications for use

Flubenol oral paste is effective for the following parasitic infections in dogs:

• Ascaris (roundworm): Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina
• Trichocephalus (whipworm): Trichuris vulpis
• Ancylostoma (hookworm): Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum

Flubenol oral paste is effective for the following parasitic infections in cats:

• Ascaris (roundworm): Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina
• Ancylostoma (hookworm): Ancylostoma tubaeforme
• Cestoda (flatworm): Taenia taeniaeformis

Flubenol oral paste - Composition

Flubenol active ingredient: 44 mg of flubendazole per ml of paste

Flubenol excipients: glycerin, carbomer 940, methyl para-hydroxybenzoate (methylparaben), propyl para-hydroxybenzoate (propyl paraben), sodium hydroxide, purified water.  

Flubenol oral paste - Dosage

1 ml per 2 kg body weight = 22 mg/kg.

• Cats and dogs infested with roundworms and hookworms: 1 ml of Flubenol paste per 2 kg of body weight, once daily for two consecutive days
• Cats and dogs infested by another parasite: 1 ml of Flubenol paste per 2 kg of body weight, once daily for three consecutive days

The syringe contains enough Flubenol to treat a 5-kg animal for 3 days.

Flubenol - Instructions

Remove the safety cap (tip guard) and hold onto the plunger while moving the adjustment ring to the weight that corresponds to the weight of your pet. Administer the paste. 

Follow-up treatment: When administering the follow-up treatment, add your pet's body weight to the number you had set the adjustment ring to the first time, and move the ring to this new number. In other words: take the number to which you had set the adjustable ring and add your pet's body weight so that your pet gets the same dosage each time.

Administering Flubenol oral paste

Flubenol paste can be administered in one of the following ways:

• By injecting the dose right into your pet's mouth
• By mixing the exact dosage into your pet's food (this is the recommended method if you are dealing with an aggressive animal or one that is difficult to control).

Other precautionary measures when using Flubenol

Flubenol can be administered to pregnant or lactating dogs or cats.

Flubenol - Side effects

Side effects in cats: Flubenol paste can sometimes lead to excessive salivation. This condition is only temporary and does not affect the medication's effectiveness or your cat's general health.

There are no known side effects to using Flubenol in dogs.
