Frontline Spot-On Cat is a preventive and curative treatment against cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis), ticks and biting lice.
Frontline Spot-On Cat protects your cat against new flea infestations for 4 weeks and against ticks for 2 weeks.
Frontline Spot-On Cat can be integrated in a treatment programme for Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
Break off the cap of the Frontline pipette on the precut part and empty it completely directly on your pet's skin after having parted the coat. It is better to put the treatment in two spots: at the base of the neck and between the shoulders, to avoid licking.
Do not use Frontline Spot-On on kittens aged less than 8 weeks or weighing less than 1 kg. Do not use on sick animals (systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or recovering pets. Do not use on rabbits, it could be lethal.
If the cat licks its coat, a brief episode of hypersalivation can occur, due to the nature of the excipient. In extremely rare situations, there can also be transitory skin reactions around the application spot (peeling, local alopecia, pruritus, erythema), generalized pruritus or alopecia.
— Bathing regularly and shampoos do not significantly reduce the efficiency of the Frontline Spot-On for cats against fleas and ticks. However, for greater efficiency, do not bathe the cat for two days following the treatment.
— Avoid contact with the fingers. If you accidentally touch the product, wash your hands with clean water and soap. Wash your hands after use. Avoid touching your pet in the few hours after the application of the product.
— Do not smoke, drink or eat during the application of the treatment.
— Keep away from children.
Studies on laboratory animals have not showed any teratogenic or embryotoxic effect due to the fipronil contained in Frontline Spot-On. Therefore, it is not contraindicated to use it on gestating or lactating females.
Do not touch your pet and do not allow children to play with it until the application spot is completely dry. We recommend that you treat the animal in the evening, and the pet should not be allowed to sleep with its owner, especially with the children.
In addition to the fleas on your cat, there may also be flea eggs, larvae and nymphs in your pet's environment. These can become adult fleas and reinfest your cat. Therefore, it is necessary to treat the environment with an appropriate product at the same time as your treat your pet, for example, Virbac's Indoor-X.
