Cosequin DS Dog - Joint supplement

Cosequin DS Dog contains chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine. These ingredients are combined to contribute to your dog's good joint health. Studies have shown that this particular combination helps to maintain the structure of cartilage in the dog's joints and to inhibit metabolic destruction of the cartilage.

Cosequin DS Dog is indicated in when there is joint suffering, for example, when your dog is growing, ageing, suffering from osteoarthritis, or after surgery.

Composition - Cosequin DS Dog

Cosequin DS Dog comes in the form of tasty tablets. Each Cosequin DS Dog tablet contains:

• Chondroitin sulphate (100 % pure): 400 mg
• Glucosamine hydrochloride (>99 % pure): 500 mg
• Manganese sulphate: 5 mg

Administration and dosage - Cosequin DS Dog

Cosequin DS Dog tablets is administered orally. These tasty Cosequin DS Dog tablets are to be administered once a day, either directly to the dog or mixed with its food (or hidden in a treat).

Loading dose

To achieve results faster, we recommend starting with a double dose of Cosequin DS Dog over a 4 to 6 week attack phase.

Maintenance dose

The daily dose of Cosequin DS Dog should then be gradually reduced to half until you find the right amount for your pet, depending on its condition and activity level. The maintenance dose can be given once every two days if your dog's condition is stable.

Cosequin DS Dog should be used continuously or in a 1 or 2 month treatment cycle, to be repeated 3 or 4 times a year.

Cosequin DS Dog does not have adverse effects. Safety studies show that Cosequin DS Dog does not change the dog's blood parameters. Some dogs may experience mild intestinal discomfort when beginning Cosequin DS Dog treatment. Dog might experience a similar reaction when you give them different food. To avoid this problem, you can administer Cosequin DS Dog with your dog’s meal.

My dog's food already contains chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine, can I still give it Cosequin?

Yes, because the quantities in regular food (even high-quality food) are not sufficient to meet dogs' needs. Moreover, when the food is being produced, heat and high pressures can negatively impact chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine levels.
