Glucosamine Extra - Key benefits
- In addition to glucosamine and chondroitin, Glucosamine-Extra also contains hydrolysed collagen. Hydrolysed collagen is one of the most abundant proteins contained in cartilage: it is responsible for elasticity and resistance in cartilage.
- Hydrolysed collagen also lubricates and protects joints. Its specific composition improves the production and composition of synovial fluids, the lubricating fluid present in joints.
- Glucosamine-Extra also contains the following plant extracts:
- "Devil's Claw" (Harpagophytum procumbens) to soothe swollen and painful joints and muscles. "Devil's Claw" allows muscles and joints to retain their natural elasticity.
- "Common Horsetail" (Equisetum arvense) to stimulate the metabolism and improve conjunctive tissues. Common Horsetail is also known to be remineralizing due to its high mineral content (silica, potassium and calcium), which helps strengthen nails, skin and fur. Silica is often used by herbalists due to its positive effect on cartilage and therefore, on joints.
- "Stinging nettle" (Urtica sp.) to stimulate metabolism through the entire organism. Nettle leaves are often added to tea blends to treat rheumatism, gout or liver and gall bladder issues.
Glucosamine-Extra - Dosage and administration
Glucosamine-Extra Phyto treat tablets are very palatable and come in liver flavour.
They can be given as a treat or mixed into your dog's food. You can also hide them in a piece of cheese or pâté.

< 10 kg | 1 tablet daily |
10 to 20 kg | 2 tablets daily |
20 to 40 kg | 3 tablets daily |
> 40 kg | 4 tablets daily |
After administering to your dog for 4 to 6 weeks, you can gradually reduce the dosage to 1/2 a tablet weekly. This weekly dosage reduction can continue until your dog is getting half of the initial dosage: half the initial dosage is the maintenance dosage. If symptoms return, the dosage can be increased.
Glucosamine-Extra - Composition
Glucosamine sulphate 2 KCl (500 mg), chondroitin sulphate (380 mg), methyl sulfonylmethane (380 mg), hydrolysed collagen (69 mg), Devil claw root extract (45 mg), stinging nettle extract (45 mg), horsetail extract (45 mg).
